Noun Project

One of the things I like about icons and symbols is that using them helps getting the idea without having to write more words. Not only that, but it also helps with memorizing. Teachers can use icons in classroom like: to tell the students that the room has a Wi-Fi the put Wi-Fi icon on the wall of the classroom. Teachers also can have the icons on the paper sheets that they give to the students to let them know about how to submit the assignment. For example: if the teacher want the assignment to be typed, he or she might put the keyboard on the paper.
I picked these following icons from http://thenounproject.com/. I find them helpful to be used as use as literacy elements

Now, for making a word cloud of a novel I used this website http://www.tagxedo.com/, which in my opinion is better website than the one I used for the textbook.

The novel I picked is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Concept map generation from textbook

Visual Understanding Environment is a really helpful program for making concept maps. I used to make a map of chapter 3 from this book: The Information Literacy User's Guide
